# Product Sales Strategy

Not every software product should be sold in the same way.

9XGO selects the sales approach based on the **product type, customer demand, vendor position, pricing model, and commercial opportunity**.

> **The objective is not to sell every product aggressively. The objective is to use the right sales model for the right product.**

## Sales Approach by Product Type

| Product Type | Typical 9XGO Strategy |
| :------------------------------ | :------------------------------------------- |
| **Emerging SaaS** | Deals + active marketing |
| **Established SaaS** | Referral, reseller, or direct sales |
| **Open-Source Software** | License, hosting, support, or implementation |
| **Enterprise Software** | Assisted sales + consultation |
| **Developer Products** | Direct marketplace sales |
| **Lifetime-Deal Friendly SaaS** | 9XGO Deal + active promotion |
| **Commodity Software** | Organic listing |

## How We Decide

Before investing significant sales or marketing resources, 9XGO considers:

| Factor | Key Question |
| :------------------ | :------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Customer Demand** | Are customers actively looking for this product? |
| **Product Value** | Does it provide a compelling solution? |
| **Vendor Need** | Can 9XGO provide meaningful distribution value? |
| **Sales Potential** | Can the product generate sustainable sales? |
| **Economics** | Can the product generate sufficient commercial value for 9XGO? |
| **Scalability** | Can sales grow without excessive operational effort? |

## Different Products, Different Strategies

A product may be suitable for 9XGO but still require a specific sales approach.

For example:

**Emerging SaaS**

→ Strong product
→ Less-known brand
→ Needs distribution
→ Attractive offer
→ **Active sales + marketing**

**Established Software**

→ Strong brand
→ Existing market demand
→ Less need for awareness
→ **Referral / reseller / direct sales**

**Open-Source Software**

→ Software is freely available
→ Value may come from hosting, licensing, support, or implementation
→ **Service or solution-based sales**

**Enterprise Software**

→ Higher price
→ More complex requirements
→ Longer buying decision
→ **Consultation + assisted sales**

## Sales Investment Levels

9XGO may use different levels of sales investment:

| Level | Approach |
| :----------- | :------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Organic** | Marketplace listing and search discovery |
| **Assisted** | Consultation, leads, or direct sales assistance |
| **Promoted** | Featured placement, content, or targeted promotion |
| **Campaign** | 9XGO-funded paid advertising and active sales campaigns |

A product may move between levels based on its **performance, demand, customer feedback, and commercial results**.

> **High sales investment is reserved for products that demonstrate strong potential.**

## Core Principle

**Product Qualification** determines:

> *“Should 9XGO sell this product?”*

**Product Sales Strategy** determines:

> *“If we sell it, how should we sell it?”*

Together, these help 9XGO select the right products and allocate sales resources effectively.
